Starts with: Character creation—starting quest for all Location: Tortage beach Synopsis: This is the introduction quest to the game which sets you on the path towards your destiny (epic) quests. The quest will introduce you to easy one-on-one combat situations and as you progress further you will run into multiple enemy encounters. It will also introduce the player to acquiring items and interacting with objects such as chests and quest items. The storyline is very entertaining if one listens to all the dialogs along the way.
Steps: 1. You begin on the beach of Tortage where Kalanthas instructs you to find your way to Tortage and Nadini. Walk east towards the jungle path where you will run into Casilda who is tied up. 2. Speak to Casilda and agree to help free her. 3. Head back to the beach towards the SW where you will find a “scavenger” holding the key. Kill the scavenger and pick up the key. 4. Speak to Casilda again to free her. You may now proceed into the jungle. (optional—there are 2 camps to the left and right of the trail. The camp to the left has a chest which often includes a healing potion) 5. Fight your way past the various thugs you run into as you follow the trail deeper into the jungle until you come to Slavemaster Saddur (level 4 at loc 522,749). 6. Slavemaster Saddur speaks to you as you approach which ends up in a fight. Defeat him and loot the chest he drops. 7. You now must find the key to unlock the gate which Saddur was standing at. The trail leads off further to the left of the gate….head that way fighting everything on the way. 8. At the end of the trail you will find a courtyard with a large creature named Fha’quth. He is standing in front of a pillar (loc 573,938) which holds the key you need to open the gate. Defeat him and a couple of his minions then “open” the pillar by right clicking on it. 9. Head back to the gate and right click on it to open it. 10. Head thru the gate and continue down the trail defeating apes along the way. You will come to a bridge spanning a gap and the city’s outer gates on the other side. 11. Defeat the Ape king who is guarding the bridge. (optional—defeat the 2 apes to the right of the span to open a chest they guard. The chest usually has a healing potion and a random item) 12. Head to the gate on the other side of the bridge. When you try to open it, Casilda will thank you and tell you to come see her inside the city. When Casilda is gone, open the gate again which will take you into the tortage city zone (but not inside the city walls just yet) 13. Head straight down the trail until you come to the city gate. It’s a short distance. When you reach the gate, speak to the Laranga who is a guard at the gate. 14. Laranga will tell you that you cannot enter wearing the slave shackles and will direct you to the blacksmith Turach, (loc 821,723) who is repairing the wall near the lava. The blacksmith should be able to help you out of your shackles. 15. Turach is back up the trail which you had come from when first entering the zone. Turach asks a favor of you before he’ll remove the shackles. You must head over to the quarry and get 3 stones. 16. Head over to the quarry. You may encounter some picts along the trail. They are easily defeated. 17. Pick up 3 stones from the quarry. They will have glowing blue lights above them. Some times a large bat will appear to your left when you pick up your first stone so be ready to fight. (note: Some times the quarry is very active with other people getting their own 3 stones that the bat doesn't always appear.) 18. Return the stones to Turach and he then removes your shackles. 19. Return to Laranga who permits you to enter the city but only if you carry a letter to his girlfriend Tina. 20. Enter the city by right clicking the gates. 21. Just inside the city ‘s west gate to your right is the Thirsty dog inn. Enter the inn where you can find Tina. 22. Speak to Tina and give her the letter from Laranga. Ask her where to find Nadini and she will instruct you that you can only head there at night.Tortage city has a special treatment of time. During daylight, it’s a multiplayer mode. You can travel with others and share quests. NOTE: Time does not progress naturally. Night time is a single player instance mode where you advance your destiny quests. To change which play mode you are in, you must speak to Tina or your trainer (who you meet later) and tell them you would like to change to Day/Night. 23. Tell Tina you would like to wait for the sun to set (enter night mode). The Thirsty Dog Inn zone will reload as a single player instance. Before exiting, you may choose to sell off items you have picked up thus far and not chosen to wear. You can do so at the merchant just down the steps near Tina. 24. Proceed to Nadini’s house and speak with her.
