Getting Started: Character Leveling and Development |
|
Character Leveling and development: Max level: 80 Primary source of experience (XP) will be by completing quests which will make this site very worth while to bookmark <wink>. Additional XP will come from the dispatching of enemies. The more difficult the target, the greater the reward. Upon leveling: · Attributes will increase automatically. · Skill points will be awarded which you can select which skills to apply them to · Feat points will be awarded which you can select which feats to apply them to. · Abilities (Combos, spells, stances) may be awarded based upon class and level attained. |
|
Attributes Attributes are the basic measurement of a characters being. Such as how strong a fighter is, or how dexterous a rogue may be. Hopefully the rogue isn’t clumsy (low dexterity) or the fighter weak or they may just be in for a difficult time in their respective professions. Strength – Great choice for anyone planning on being in a close hand to hand fight. It also helps if you wish to carry more than a bag of marbles. · melee damage bonus · attack rating bonus Dexterity – Main attribute for rogues and a good investment for anyone looking to avoid being hit. · defensive rating bonus · attack rating bonus (some weapon types) Constitution – Most characters will benefit from having a good constitution. Some fights it comes down to those last couple points of health that separates you from living and having to look for a resurrection. · Determines Health pool · Determines Stamina pool Intelligence- The main attribute for all mages is their intelligence. Hybrids who have some casting ability may elect to invest in their intelligence but is dependent upon how much they rely on their casting. · Determines mana pool · Magic rating bonus for mages Wisdom – The main attribute for priests. · Determines mana pool · Magic rating bonus for priests |

Skills announced thus far : Perception: How well you spot hidden enemies and dangers. Great skill for PvP Bandaging: Outside of combat skill that helps you to heal more quickly. The higher the skill, the faster the healing. Renew mana: This is similar to bandaging, but instead it affects your mana pool. Concentration: How much can you ignore before your casting gets interrupted? Great skill for mages and priests. Hiding: The higher the skill, the more difficult you are to spot while hidden. Great PvP skill. Climbing: Determines the difficulty of objects, such as ladders and slopes that you can climb. You may climb by using climbing spots in certain areas. Taunt: The higher your skill in taunting, the greater chance of making enemies aggressive towards you. A great skill choice for those who play the main tank.
Note: The maximum number of points you can invest in a skill increases as you gain new levels. As additional skills are announced we will provide updates accordingly |

Feats:
No, not what smells when you take those sneakers off. Feats are the absolute core of character development. The feats you select is what will separate your character the most from others of your class.
Every character will have 3 feat trees to select from. The first being a general tree shared by all those of the same archetype (fighter, rogue, mage, priest). The remaining 2 trees will be class specific and define what your capable of.
See our guide to the feat system for details on each class and their feat trees.
Example: A Dark Templar has the choice of the Soldier tree as well as his/her class trees of “Depravity” and “Desecration”. Depravity focuses on combo oriented feats while Desecration focuses on spell oriented feats.
One Dark Templar player may choose to select mostly Depravity feats and focus mostly on their melee type of skills while another Dark Templar player may choose to go heavy into Desecration and rely more on their spell capabilities. Each player being the same class, but now are both very different in strengths and weaknesses.
The fun in the game will be finding what works out best for the style of player you are. As you gain levels, how you spend your points will define your character and how you enjoy the game.
